To capitalize on Abdul’s fame from American Idol, Virgin Records repackaged and released Greatest Hits: Straight Up! as a second greatest hits album by Paula Abdul. The album was released on May 8, 2007.
The compilation contains Abdul's six U.S. number-one hits. This version of the hits album also contains the top 20 single "Will You Marry Me?" which was left off her 2000 Greatest Hits album.
Like its predecessor album, Greatest Hits: Straight Up! did not chart on the Billboard 200 (though it did chart near the bottom of the R&B Albums chart peaking at #86).
As well as containing Abdul's hits, the compilation contains some album tracks which were not singles.
